It all started in the year 2016 when a 21 years old guy Anubhav Mukherjee from Chhattisgarh came to Kolkata to learn filmmaking. Being a Bengali, he was always connected with the city, but as he was brought up in Chhattisgarh, he didn’t get the opportunity to see his hometown completely. When he got the chance to live alone in the city, he couldn’t control his happiness and started roaming around the city. Photography is always the first love of Anubhav and he kept on taking beautiful pictures of the city while roaming around. Within a few days, he fell in love with Kolkata just like any other person.

Being a millennial, he wanted to share the pictures and videos taken by him on social media and thought of creating a page which will focus on the beauty and culture of Kolkata. The result of his thought is the most prominent social media page of Kolkata “The Kolkata Buzz”. During the early days, Anubhav used to upload photos and videos but within a few days he took this page too seriously, and to grab the attention of the Kolkatians, he started uploading humorous contents. And, we all know nobody can say no to good content. As a result, the page got 1 lakh followers within a year. The Kolkata Buzz created a buzz in social media, the ‘generation Y’ started sharing the posts of the page and each post of the page started getting more and more likes. At that moment, Anubhav Mukherjee took the decision to make this his profession.

Anubhav was ready to take the risk for good and maintained the consistency of his page so well, that even after four years, The Kolkata Buzz is still the most popular social media page in the City of Joy with a follower base of 1 million+. Within a year of the page, well-known brands have started approaching Anubhav for collaborations. He realized that he needed some manpower to achieve his goals and hired some freelancers who would work on his page.

In 2019, Anubhav registered The Kolkata Buzz into a company Buzzaffair Ventures (OPC) Private Limited. His company is into Influencer marketing, Event Promotions, and Social Media Management. Till now, his agency has collaborated and worked with more than 500 brands. Not only this, but Anubhav is also successfully managing other social media pages like The Kolkata Buzz TV, The Kolkata buzz 2.0, Foodgasm TV, Being Bengali, and Hot Buzz.

Regarding the journey of him, Anubhav said, “When I started the page, it was my sheer interest in uploading pictures and videos, which were taken by me. But, after getting encouragement from people, I kept on thinking about how to entertain them or how to make it big and started creating original content. I have nothing to lose but everything to win. Somehow I understood that regularity plays a major role in this social media game, and I maintained it, maybe this is the main reason behind the success of The Kolkata Buzz”. About his future plans, he added, “I want to open a Digital Marketing Agency soon to provide value to the brands and to help them grow digitally”.
