The Dark Secret Behind the Pet Food Industry in the US

Despite the significant breakthroughs and the formation of systematic organizations to monitor the things animals consume, I would like to argue that there remain caveats in the pet food industry. With that being said, my career trajectory—from being in higher education management to a functional medicine practitioner— I am dedicated to helping reverse disease states in pets and people worldwide, so they can be around as long as possible and live disease and pain-free. In addition, I also want to inform the public about the truth behind veterinary practices and the pet food industry.

Dogfoods are Considered “ dog feed” by the FDA

The Food and Drug Administration, abbreviated as FDA, is the known institution that monitors food, drugs, and other products and processes that are safe for consumers. As stated on their website, they are “responsible for protecting the public health by ensuring the safety, efficacy, and security of human and veterinary drugs, biological products, and medical devices.” Although the FDA is operated by highly trained individuals and is recognized for its prestige and authority, its minimal food regulation does not lead you to optimal health.

Moreover, the FDA labels dog foods as dog feed, which may not be a concern for many, but it sure should be, knowing what aloud into dog food. It’s definitely something that people with a keen sense of reasoning and love for their pet, would not simply ignore. In fact, this categorization should be everyone’s concern. You would have to ask, “Isn’t feed a typical term for animal food?” The simple answer to that question is yes; however, have you ever wondered why it is exclusive for animals alone? Imagine calling human food “human feed.” It does not make sense, right? Food is food, and the processes to make food should be labeled distinctly for every species, but as we can see in the name, it’s really not food that is allowed in animal feed, this is why the FDA stays out of qualifying pet food and instead does research into it find many unsavory things, for example, drugs used to kill diseases and sick animals and there’s only one way that gets into pet food and it certainly should not.

There is a specific process carried out to produce pet feed, which is evidently detrimental to animals. The feed ingredients undergo high-pressure pasteurization to remove diseases found in their raw materials and other ways to kill out the diseases in the feed. Aside from that, the synthetic supplements that are integrated into feed cannot be absorbed by the body. Ultimately, the whole process just makes the so-called feed unhealthier, since it adds a considerable percentage of fat also which does not even come close to the fat %age in the wild if your dog, say ate an actual rabbit.

At present, the United States is just all about genetically modified organisms (GMOs), which create inflammation leading to many kinds of autoimmune diseases sadly, that and of course pesticides used. So maybe when a veterinarian suggests that you buy a big bag of dog food for your canine, you definitely want to think twice, and that goes for any commercialized dog food. In addition, none take into consideration the digestive biology of the dog either.

Healthcare in the US is in reality Sickcare

We spend so much money on healthcare, and yet there is less health to show for it. Our present disease-care sector has submitted to the belief that managing or band-aiding illness is the best we can do. To simply put it, healthcare in the United States is doing the bare minimum and blocking symptoms rather than reversing disease and creating or restoring health and wellness, it really is not their job or training either.

Other countries prioritize health and wellness first and see people like myself first, and if that were to not work due to say the discipline of the person, or if there is an emergency like a broken arm or surgery needed, then they visit the traditional healthcare system. In the US sick-care is prioritized first and few know where to go for disease reversal, health restoration, and prevention. Our system does not strive to treat people to prevent or reverse disease and create sustainably. Instead, the majority of patients often have surgeries and take dozens of drugs simultaneously.

As a result, patients would return regularly to monitor their disease status not really progress, just to find out they would have to undergo more procedures for the financial benefit of a particular clinic. A doctor prescribing drugs to a patient is similar to the blind leading the blind. They just put a band-aid on certain diseases masked as a form of treatment and get their drug training from their drug reps., just as traditional veterinarians do.

Although I do have a doctorate in education as I spent two decades in higher education, I am no medical doctor, I am certified health, wellness, and functional medicine practitioner. In addition, I am also a certified raw dog food nutrition specialist. My industry experience has led me to discover innovative methods to find root causes of autoimmune diseases and restore health by creating proper plans to reverse sicknesses. In essence, I focus on prevention and reversal.

Comparing my practice to traditional veterinary medicine, the curriculum followed by aspiring veterinarians does not involve health and wellness or disease reversal, it’s not their job, so I am not really talking against them at all, I am really just trying to educate folks who to go to for what concern and what results they want. Everyone has their job and purpose. Without accounting for the two, there will be no means to determine a proper way to combat diseases. This is what I aspire to change. I want to teach people the truth and allow them to replicate my actions to create a society where we can live healthier and happier lives and pass on things like old age vs disease, pain, and illness.

If you do not agree with our US healthcare system, or traditional veterinary care, or the allowances of the pet food industry, and aspire to implement the proper nutritional plan to optimize you and your dog’s health, you can reach me at: questions[email protected].
