Suzanna Soghomonyan: “I do my job not to compete. I create!”

When and why did you decide to connect your life with cosmetology?

From childhood I was very attracted to medicine. As a teenager, I knew for sure that in the future I would become a doctor. Twelve years ago, after graduating from the Pirogov Medical University in Moscow, I entered the internship in therapy. And two years later – in residency in dermatovenerology and cosmetology. I really liked both professions – and I worked part-time for five years. But over time, I decided to devote myself entirely to cosmetology. It inspired me more. I can say with complete confidence that I am proud of my profession. A dermatocosmetologist today is one of the most prestigious and worthy professions.

There is huge competition in the cosmetology market now. What are your competitive advantages?

To be yourself, to be an individual, to be creative – these are my rules. I’m not doing my job to compete. I just create. Over these long years, I have developed author’s techniques for various types of injections, procedures, and so on.

What cosmetic procedures do you consider the most effective? What is your personal top 5?

There are a lot of them. Of course, this is hardware cosmetology, injections of various kinds, threads, acid peels, treatments, cleanings. All these procedures are effective only when the diagnosis is correctly made and the appropriate treatment is prescribed.

There is an opinion that a cosmetologist must still be a good psychologist in order to find an approach to a client and understand him better. Do you agree with that? When do you have to “turn on” the psychologist?

I cannot but agree with you. This is indeed the case. The most important thing in the relationship between a doctor and a patient is trust, the human factor and an individual approach.

Have you had to dissuade clients from certain procedures? In which cases?

Certainly! At the present time, young girls, in pursuit of fashion, turn to this or that procedure, which they are not shown at all.

Tell us about the trends and trends in cometology – what procedures are especially relevant during the summer season?

Cosmetology is developing rapidly in all respects. During the summer season, procedures such as deep skin hydration, mesotherapy and biorevitalization are especially relevant.
