Bangladeshi author Salah Uddin Mahmud’s new book ‘MOMOTA’ has hit the market. The book is a contemporary novels. Annodhara, an aesthetic publishing house, published this book.
After the book was published, the author said, “It feels different. It was as if I had entered another world. Just as I was moved when I became a father, I am just as happy to have the book in my hands. Today I received Momota. I do not know the language to express all this feeling of contentment. However, I can say that not a book, like a child, born.”
Recently, young poet, novelist and journalist Salah Uddin Mahmud received the ‘Sahitya Diganta Lekhak Puraskar’. Crests, certificates, scarves and gift items were handed over to him at a day-long event at Kabita Cafe in the capital on January 29.
Organized by the quarterly Sahitya Diganta, the event was inaugurated by nationalist poet Muhammad Nurul Huda. Special guests were poet Aslam Sunny, Rezauddin Stalin, Shaheen Reza, Bilu Kabir, Dr. Shahadat Hossain Nipu, Dr. Tapan Bagchi and Zakir Talukder.
Ziaul Haque presided over the function with the presentation of poet Zayed Hossain Lucky. The day-long event included ‘Sahitya Diganta Lekhak Puraskar 2020’, ‘Friends of Humanity Bangladesh Award 2020’, ‘Poetry Recitation of Registered Poets’ and publication festival of new books by that author.
Salahuddin Mahmud is a storyteller, essayist and poet. He was born in the village of Uttar Ura Char in Kalkini upazila of Madaripur. He is a first class graduate in Bengali literature. Journalist by profession. Currently working as a feature in-charge at the popular online news portal Jagonews24.com.
