Kaylan Arnold is quite simply a joy to be around. A highly passionate artist and a thoroughly humble young woman, Arnold has a way of slithering her way straight to your soul and staying there. Now, a good part of that, she does through her music, a skillful blend of different genres, in which only one thing matters – that you feel the music. And that she feels it, too, because after all, that is the goal of being a good artist, putting a little bit of yourself into everything you release out into the world. And Kaylan Arnold, in spite of her tender age, manages to do that remarkably well. A young woman with a lot to give, Arnold makes every song just the right balance of soulful, moody, sensual, and real. You feel it, and not by turning it up. Kaylan is blessed with this wonderfully joyous and appealing voice that swiftly seduces you and turns you into a loyal fan. Coupled with her wonderful rhythm, and her genre mish-mash that brings together elements of pop, dance, R&B, and rap, it’s no wonder that Kaylan Arnold enchants listeners of all types, even those who say “I don’t normally listen to this sort of thing”. Especially those.
Having listened and fallen in love with one tune after the next, we were eager to find out how is it that this remarkably talented young woman, a multi-instrumentalist and a clever songwriter in her own right, manages to do this. And the answer turned out to be surprisingly simple, yet heartfelt. She charms so many people across the world through the fact that her music is genuine. It succeeds in establishing a real human connection between her, in her studio, and you, listening to her music in your living room or behind the wheel.
Kaylan’s music doesn’t sound like any other artist hit you’d hear on the radio. It sounds and feels like you’re talking to a lifelong friend, someone who’s gentle, and who sees you for what you really are. Through her music, Kaylan establishes and maintains a connection with such a wide array of different people, it’s no wonder she’s ascending to fame so rapidly.
It’s not just the voice, though she has one beautiful enough to charm anyone in this world. And it’s not just the lyrics, relatable and touching though they may be. It’s not the beats, full of attitude, but at the same time, soft and gentle. It’s all of that put together, coupled with Arnold’s strong online presence and connection to her fans.
But what does the artist think about all this? In a brief, though highly pleasant conversation with this amazing artist, we had a chance of asking just that.
“One misconception about the industry is that followers equal streams or real relationships with people,” she says. “I attribute my success to the people that believed in me (real friends, family, my significant other) myself and God. I can also credit people that don’t like me/conspire against me or want to see me lose, for giving me the motivation to never let that happen.”
