It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?
I grew up with parents who taught me to use my words and we moved a lot so if i didn’t speak up, i wouldn’t make any friends. Luckily i was born a natural talker. I’m well versed in many different cultures and love learning about others so that gives me something to ask people in my life about. I’ve always found myself in sales and customer service jobs so using my verbal communication skills has always come in handy and has led to any success i have today.
I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?
I have definitely had a ton of challenges just like anyone else. My top 3 were definitely creating a high energy as typically i am very laid back and don’t emit passion in my voice so i speak very monotone unless I’m telling jokes or being sarcastic! The second would be time management/procrastination. It has always been very hard for me to keep on task and do things before it’s due. But making schedules and holding yourself to them has helped me with that tremendously. The third challenge has always been knowledge. I’ve worked in many different fields so i have had to learn many different trades or knowledge there of. Whether it be shoes, Windows, construction of life insurance. Each has something to do with sales but there was always the learning curve of learning the actual product(s) so that i could best serve my customer.
What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?
I have two pieces of advice. 1) most things you’re passionate about won’t make you money. That’s what hobbies are for and it gives you a good balance between work and leisure time. 2) it’s important to put in the time to your work, but also don’t burn yourself out. Make a schedule that fits your goals and also allows you to smell the roses.
Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?
There’s many forms of success in life. There’s financial success, relational success, success in good mental health. I think success is relative but to me it means making enough money to afford the rainy days without digging your own grave of debt, without losing your hobbies, relationships and identifiers of what made you, you.
What’s next for you?
Currently I’m working on scaling my business to 6 figures. I’m starting to surround myself with other of like mind and those who can teach me how to get there.
Finally, how can people connect with you if they want to learn more?
